Dynamic Mind & Body Workshops

CalmParents4CalmKids

A gentle, practical workshop for parents in Harpenden who want a calmer home. When we ease our own anxiety, our children feel it, and they settle too. Learn how to steady yourself in the heat of the moment so the whole family can breathe a little easier.

Two soft nested forms, the CalmParents4CalmKids workshop
Calm is catching
What it covers

Children borrow our nervous systems

Long before they understand our words, our children read our tone, our shoulders, our breathing. When we are wound tight, they pick it up. When we are steady, they borrow that steadiness.

This workshop gently explains the science of co-regulation: how a parent's calm quite literally helps a child's brain settle. We look at the everyday triggers that send our own anxiety soaring, the bedtime battles, the school-run rush, the worry that we are somehow getting it wrong, and how hypnotherapy can lower the volume on all of it. You will then experience a soothing guided hypnosis session, so you leave feeling lighter, and finish with simple tools you can reach for the very next time the morning starts to unravel.

Who it is for

This room is for you if

You love your children fiercely and still find yourself snapping more than you would like. You lie awake replaying the day, worrying you are passing your own anxiety on to them. You want to be the calm, grounded parent you picture in your head, and you are not sure how to get there.

This is a kind, judgement-free space for mums, dads and carers alike. You do not need to be in crisis, just ready for a calmer way of being at home.

What you will walk away with
  • An understanding of how your calm shapes your child's calm
  • In-the-moment techniques to steady yourself when tension rises
  • Relief from the guilt and self-criticism that drains so many parents
  • A guided hypnosis recording to keep and use whenever you need it
  • A genuine sense that a calmer home is within reach
How it runs

Small, warm and judgement-free

We keep the group small, usually a handful of parents, so it feels supportive rather than exposing. The workshop runs for about two hours at our calm studio at 82c High Street, Harpenden, Hertfordshire (just behind Nonna's Cafe), with selected dates also offered online so you can join once the children are in bed. Come exactly as you are, no perfect parents required.

Good to know

Your questions, answered

It works with you, the parent. Children are remarkably good at reading and mirroring our state, so when we learn to steady ourselves, they very often settle in response. The calmest, most lasting change in the home usually starts with the grown-up.
Quite the opposite. This is a warm, non-judgemental space built around the fact that you already care deeply. The aim is to lift guilt, not add to it, and to give you practical tools that make the hard moments easier.
None at all. Everything is explained gently and you stay fully aware and in control throughout. The guided session simply feels like a deeply relaxing pause in a busy week.
Absolutely, and it often helps when both parents share the same calm tools. Just let us know when you book so we can keep the right number of seats together.
This workshop supports you first, which often eases the whole household. If your child would benefit from their own gentle support, our one-to-one work includes specialist approaches for young people. A free consultation is the best place to talk it through.
