CalmParents4CalmKids
A gentle, practical workshop for parents in Harpenden who want a calmer home. When we ease our own anxiety, our children feel it, and they settle too. Learn how to steady yourself in the heat of the moment so the whole family can breathe a little easier.

Children borrow our nervous systems
Long before they understand our words, our children read our tone, our shoulders, our breathing. When we are wound tight, they pick it up. When we are steady, they borrow that steadiness.
This workshop gently explains the science of co-regulation: how a parent's calm quite literally helps a child's brain settle. We look at the everyday triggers that send our own anxiety soaring, the bedtime battles, the school-run rush, the worry that we are somehow getting it wrong, and how hypnotherapy can lower the volume on all of it. You will then experience a soothing guided hypnosis session, so you leave feeling lighter, and finish with simple tools you can reach for the very next time the morning starts to unravel.
This room is for you if
You love your children fiercely and still find yourself snapping more than you would like. You lie awake replaying the day, worrying you are passing your own anxiety on to them. You want to be the calm, grounded parent you picture in your head, and you are not sure how to get there.
This is a kind, judgement-free space for mums, dads and carers alike. You do not need to be in crisis, just ready for a calmer way of being at home.
- An understanding of how your calm shapes your child's calm
- In-the-moment techniques to steady yourself when tension rises
- Relief from the guilt and self-criticism that drains so many parents
- A guided hypnosis recording to keep and use whenever you need it
- A genuine sense that a calmer home is within reach
Small, warm and judgement-free
We keep the group small, usually a handful of parents, so it feels supportive rather than exposing. The workshop runs for about two hours at our calm studio at 82c High Street, Harpenden, Hertfordshire (just behind Nonna's Cafe), with selected dates also offered online so you can join once the children are in bed. Come exactly as you are, no perfect parents required.
